Workshops

Custom workshops that inspire courage, collaboration, and clarity—designed for people who do good work and want to do it even better

Design Your Workshop

You’re looking for a way to support your team without adding more pressure. My workshops give people space to step back, reconnect, and practice skills they can use right away. They’re designed for real-world challenges—helping great teams¹ adapt, stay resilient, and keep their sense of purpose, even when resources are thin and the work is demanding.

1—Miracle on Ice. Ocean’s 11. Apollo 13. The Bellas. Even The Italian Job. Great teams don’t all look alike, but you know them when you see them.

I draw on adaptive leadership, co-active coaching, improv, and storytelling to design workshops that feel less like training and more like illumination². Each one begins with your priorities, so the experience speaks directly to what your organization needs most right now.

Participants walk away with practical tools they can use immediately, a renewed sense of confidence, and stronger connections with each other—fuel to carry them through the real pressures of their work.

2—I know what it's like to be in a dark room, trying to find my way out. And I know the power of taking a beat, regrounding in my capacity—and that of the people around me—to chart our path forward together.

*Frequently asked questions worth reading!

    • Custom Workshop Design rooted in our interviews or discovery calls

    • Virtual or In-Person delivery ranging from 60 minutes to a multi-session series

    • Experiential Activities that strengthen psychological safety and real-world skills

    • Optional Pre-Work & Follow-Up Integration Materials to extend learning and impact

  • Mission-driven organizations. High-performing teams in transition. Leadership development programs that prioritize both heart and results.

Whether your group is corporate, nonprofit, education, or government, this work is especially resonant with professionals who are thoughtful, collaborative, and navigating complexity with care.

These workshops are ideal for teams ready to shift from overwhelm into intention, from disconnection into alignment, and from “managing through” into leading forward.

  • These aren't sit-and-get sessions or slide-heavy lectures. Each workshop is experiential, tailored, and alive in the moment.

Previous clients have said they chose to work (and keep working) with Katy because she:

    • Emphasizes the importance of leadership development for the whole person

    • Holds compassionate space for people to work their edges by balancing support and challenge

    • Is equal parts approachable and courageous

    • Blends a depth and breadth of expertise with her intuitive skill for connecting with people

Katy is able to respond to whatever comes up in a group while staying on point. She will meet each member of your team where they are and move everyone forward together, weaving in research and best practices to underpin discussion points with engaging fluidity.

  • Every workshop starts with you. We begin with a discovery call to uncover what’s really going on with your team or audience. Then Katy designs an experience that meets your goals, whether that’s increasing leadership capacity, strengthening communication, or building more connection and trust. No off-the-shelf templates—just what's relevant to you, created together.

  • Katy offers both virtual and in-person formats to meet the energy and structure of your team. Sessions can range from a 60-minute energizer to a half- or full-day retreat, or a multi-session series.

She regularly works with groups of 10 to 50 people, and is equally adept at running a focused session with a handful of participants to commanding a ballroom stage with interactive components incorporated through

    • breakout activities at individual tables

    • remote follow-up sessions in smaller groups, or

    • simultaneous workshops facilitated by trusted partners and held after ballroom catalysts

Katy also provides options for pre-work, follow-up activities, team prompts, or coaching support to help land the learning.

  • Custom workshops typically require 4–6 weeks of prep time, depending on the complexity and scale. For larger events or multi-session series, earlier is better. That said, reach out even if you're on a short timeline—some of the best breakthroughs happen when the clock is ticking.

  • I provide integration and follow-up support designed around your group’s goals. That might include custom reflection tools, discussion guides, or prompts to keep the conversation going. I can also offer individual coaching sessions or group Q&A hours to deepen learning and sustain momentum after the workshop.

  • “I wasn’t sure if everyone would be receptive because we have a lot of really busy people on staff who also might be a little hesitant to be so interactive in a business setting. But Katy’s energy pulled them in and everyone participated. She tied the experiences back to practical applications so people gained valuable skills and also left feeling more connected to each other.”

  • “Thank you so much, Katy. You showed the highest level of professionalism. Your passion for the work that you do was very inspiring. It was one of the most enjoyable workshops I have ever been to.”

    CARMEN YAN
    Student Experience Coordinator

  • “As an individual, [this workshop] allowed me to become comfortable with myself and be able to share that with my colleagues. It also helped me exercise a part of my brain that I don’t normally use in my role through storytelling which will help me as I collaborate with my other colleagues who use their storytelling muscle more often than I do. The exercises elevated the importance of the work that we do and how I can take our mission and our story to not only share with donors but also use that technique as I start projects internally. Thank you, thank you for this amazing experience. We are grateful for it.”
